And with this portrait of Pompón I close the series of photos taken at APCA, an NGO that does a wonderful and dedicated work with cats, dogs and farm animals from Uruguay, injured by accidents, serious diseases or abandoned by their owners, as well as feral animals.
A few weeks ago I was informed of his passing away. I met Pompon a few years ago, he was a stray cat, cuddly, but with a strong and indomitable character, impossible to adapt him to live at home. Like all stray cats, he fought with other cats, got hurt and disappeared for some time. One day he didn’t come back anymore, and for several weeks he was missing. He came back to my house in a very bad state, almost dying, with injuries that we suppose were made by someone with bad intentions. Fortunately I was able to capture him to take him to the vet, I took care of the veterinary expenses, his surgery and subsequent recovery. Given his “wild” instinct, he was housed at the sanctuary to keep him safe. He lived happily for many months.
Sadly time took its toll.
Rest in peace Pompón, my gray friend.
🐱 Here is another portrait of him.
