Momo

Arriving at our home just a short while ago, this young black cat we adopted from a local shelter came to us unaware of the excitement he would bring. After long deliberation, the chosen name was Momo. At just a year and a half old, he initially seemed like a sweet and surprisingly calm boy, content with quiet cuddles and gentle purrs.

It was one of countless attempts, bursts of photos that were mostly out of focus as he moved constantly. Then, from a position right up close in the middle of the room, the click of the camera shutter caught his attention. For that brief, frozen moment, he was absolutely focused—and this shot was the lucky result, capturing that perfect expression right before he bolted.

It didn’t take long for his true personality to come to light. As he settled in and built up his confidence, that peaceful front gave way to a playful, endlessly curious spirit. Now, his mischievous side takes center stage: he’s always exploring, getting into little antics, and showing off the energetic, affectionate nature of a young cat who finally feels right at home.

With an intensity usually reserved for national ID photos or mugshots, this portrait officially opens Momo’s album.
