Menemerus semilimbatus is a common jumping spider native to the Mediterranean region and widely distributed throughout southern Europe, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East. It is frequently observed on walls, rocks, tree trunks, and buildings, where it actively hunts small insects using its excellent vision rather than relying on webs to capture prey.
This species is one of the most familiar jumping spiders in urban and rural environments throughout the Mediterranean basin, including Greece and the island of Crete. Like other members of the family Salticidae, it is characterized by its agile movements, curious behavior, and ability to perform precise jumps while stalking prey.
