I had the pleasure of encountering a troop of these in the wild in Okutama several years ago.
Fascinating! We had planned several hikes in “wild” places but there really is so much to do in Japan, that we couldn’t do it this time. Good tip, I just looked up Okutama and it’s beautiful.
